Account Management

Manage your CAT Platform profile, subscription, and verification status from your Account page.

Accessing Your Account

  1. Click "Account" in the sidebar (at the bottom, above Logout)
  2. Or click "Account" in the top navigation bar
  3. You'll see several sections on your Account page

Your Account Information

Viewing Your Profile

The "Your Account" section displays:

  • User ID: Your unique identifier in the system
  • Name: Your first and last name
  • Email: Your registered email address
  • Affiliation: Your organization
  • User Type: Your role (e.g., Transportation Analyst)
  • Subscription: Your current subscription tier (Free, Basic, Premium, or Institutional)
  • Account Start Date: When you created your account

Updating Your Profile

  1. On the Account page, click "Update Account" in the "Your Account" section
  2. A modal window will open with editable fields:
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Affiliation
    • User Type
  3. Make your changes
  4. Click "Update" to save
  5. Your profile will be updated immediately

Note: Your email address cannot be changed through the Account page. Contact support if you need to change your email.

Understanding Subscriptions

Subscription Tiers

The platform offers different subscription levels:

  • Free: Limited orders per month (typically 5), access to all tools
  • Basic: More orders per month, priority support
  • Premium: Even more orders, advanced features
  • Institutional: Custom limits, contract-based pricing

Viewing Your Subscription

  1. Go to your Account page
  2. Your current subscription is shown in the "Your Account" section
  3. To see all subscription options and pricing:
    • Click "Plans & Pricing" in the sidebar (INFO section)
    • Or visit the Plans & Pricing page directly

Subscription Limits

Each subscription tier has limits on:

  • Monthly Orders: Maximum number of orders you can create per month
  • Total Orders: Maximum number of orders in your account (some tiers have unlimited)

You can see your current usage on the NEW ORDER page:

  • Orders this month: X / Y
  • Total orders: X / Y

If you reach your limit, you'll need to:

  • Wait until next month (for monthly limits)
  • Upgrade your subscription (for more capacity)
  • Delete old orders (if you've reached total limit)

Verification for Publishing

What is Verification?

Verification allows you to publish your order results to the public CAT Grand Database. This makes your data available to other users and the public.

Why Get Verified?

  • Share your organization's emissions data publicly
  • Contribute to the CAT Grand Database
  • Make your data available for regional analysis
  • Support transparency in transportation planning

Requesting Verification

  1. On the Account page, scroll to the "Verification" section
  2. Enter the following:
    • Geoid (FIPS Code): The 5-digit FIPS code for the county you want to publish (e.g., 36109 for Tompkins County, NY)
    • Email: Your work email address (must be .gov or .edu domain)
  3. Click "Submit Verification"

Important: Your email must have a .gov or .edu domain to be eligible for verification. This ensures that only government and educational institutions can publish public data.

Verification Process

  1. Submit Request: Your verification request is submitted
  2. Review Period: Platform administrators review your request (typically 1-2 business days)
  3. Approval/Rejection: You'll be notified of the decision
  4. Publishing Access: Once approved, you can publish orders for that geographic area

Viewing Verified Areas

On the Account page, the "Verified Areas" section shows:

  • A table of all counties (geoids) for which you are verified
  • County name and state
  • Verification status

Once verified for a county, you can publish any order for that county to the public database.

Publishing Verified Data

After verification, you can publish your orders:

  1. Go to "VIEW ORDERS"
  2. Select the order(s) you want to publish
  3. Click "PUBLISH"
  4. Confirm the publication
  5. Your data will be available in the CAT Grand Database within 5-10 minutes

Deleting Your Account

Before You Delete

⚠️ Warning: Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. This will:

  • Delete all your orders and data
  • Remove your account from the system
  • Cancel your subscription

How to Delete

  1. On the Account page, scroll to the "Delete My Account" section
  2. Click "Delete My Account"
  3. A confirmation modal will appear
  4. Read the warning message carefully
  5. If you're sure, click "CONFIRM DELETE"
  6. Your account will be deleted and you'll be logged out

Note: Consider downloading your data before deleting your account if you may need it later.

Admin Functions

If you have admin privileges, you'll see additional sections on the Account page:

  • Manage Subscriptions: View and change user subscriptions
  • Manage Verification Requests: Review and approve/reject verification requests from other users

These features are only available to platform administrators.

Tips

  1. Keep Your Profile Updated: Ensure your affiliation and user type are current
  2. Monitor Your Limits: Check your order usage regularly to avoid hitting limits
  3. Request Verification Early: If you plan to publish data, request verification in advance
  4. Understand Your Subscription: Know your limits and features for your subscription tier
